When you limit your search to a particular category, show that category as the path

We sell car parts for particular classic cars. We have categories setup for those cars and put the appropriate parts in the appropriate sub-category for each car.  Customers can then limit their search to the category of their car or any sub category of their car.  Since any given part could fit a dozen or more car applications, we cannot set any one car as the default category for a part, so we have generic non-car specific categories set as the default.  So what happens is that when a customer limits their search to only "1967 Mercury Cougar > Audio", when they click on the part, the breadcrumb trail simply shows "Audio" (the generic default category). 

It would be nice if instead it showed the category they had limited their search results to (1967 Mercury Cougar > Audio) as the breadcrumb trail when they click on one of the listings in the search results.
