This article will walk you through connecting your AmeriCommerce mailing list to Constant Contact. If needed please see Mailing List Overview.
Connect New List
To get started, you will need to create an application in Constant Contact's Developer Portal to create an API key and APP Secret. Once in the portal, select "New Application" and you will see the following screen:
The API key shown is what you'll place in the field labeled "API Key" on the mailing list edit screen. After you've copied it over, click "Generate Secret" then copy and paste it in the field labeled "Client Secret" on the mailing list edit screen. The redirect URI will need to be copied from the mailing list edit screen and pasted in Redirect URI box shown in the Constant Contact Developer Portal.
Note: A single Constant Contact Application API Key/App Secret Pair can not be used with more than one Constant Contact Mailing lists. For each additional Constant Contact Mailing List, you will need to create corresponding Applications in Developer Portal to get an additional pair.
Be sure to click save in your Constant Contact portal after pasting in the redirect uri. then slick the Authorize button in mailing list edit screen and a pop up will appear for you to login to Constant Contact. Use the same credentials you used thus far. After you've entered your credentials and selected login, you will be ask to Allow or Deny
Migrate Data button is provided to convert legacy Contact IDs to new version UUIDs. This is only relevant if your store has used a constant contact mailing list before the switch to their v3 API.
Note: This button will Convert All Contact IDs to new version IDs. The process is not limited to current Mailing List. Meaning this will convert any existing Customer ContactIDs stored in our system
- This does not import customers already existing in the AmeriCommerce mailing list.
Connect Existing Mailing List
For existing Constant Contact Mailing Lists, you will see a new button
Upgrade Mailing List. This button is to update a Constant Contact mailing list that existed prior to the switch to the v3 API. This will update the currently selected mailing list and will not affect customers.
After selecting to upgrade, you will see the button to Authorize. If you proceed with the Authorization process by providing API Key and Client Secret, the list will be updated to use new version APIs. To cancel the process, user can click the "Close" button of the overlay.

If you experience issues with your Mailing list connecting, it may be due to an outdated OAuth2 configuration.
In this case, you can log into your Constant Contact Admin account and check the application.
If necessary, you will need to create a new application and copy your settings to it.
